L'Dor V'Dor - From Generation to Generation

Congregation Temple Israel celebrates its 125th anniversary this year. As a 6th generation congregant, and member of one of the founding families, I created Temple's retrospective with both pride and reverence for our history.
Over its 125 years, Temple Israel has had its fair share important moments. From interfaith services with Cardinal Glennon, visits from Harry Truman and Henry Kissinger, to sharing the pulpit with guest preacher Martin Luther King, Jr., Temple Israel has had a front seat to history. The congregation has a rich past, evident in the over 30 minute slide show pulled together from temple archives, congregation memorabilia and member submissions. High profile visits are an important part of temple past, but it is the shared moments in prayer, sense of belonging and commitment to tikun olam (repairing the world) that creates a congregation. Temple Israel has continued to serve St. Louis by both honoring its past and providing a community for future generations. It is that shared love of family, faith and friendship that continues to make Temple Israel a voice for all generations.
